You may be asking yourself what is SO Killzone, well: Special Operations: Killzone is a Glorious 40k Fan project that a few avid gamers have been working on for over 3 years now. Really, it’s a much refined and improved version of super-fast and streamlined 40K Kill Teams.

  1. Its good to see you back home here! You've been missed.

I just read about the WZR work you did, that's awesome and amazing. I will have to look in on it. But that now begs the question about KZ, how is it coming along?

I've got plans for a giant campaign that's going to not only start off with a round of KZ but is going to feature all of the supplements intertwined.

Imagine a game of city fight using the planet strike rules as well. The defenders main HQ building is protected by a void shield that can only be dropped by a small crack team infiltrating the power complex elsewhere. The thought of playing two very different games at the same time and both affecting the other.....joygasm!

Any idea on how KZ is shaping up and when I can get my grubby hands on it?

  2. The main rules have been done, dusted and current since last October. The Codex Operatives is in limbo currently, GW are out pacing my hobby budget and ability to update the codex.

The codex will be finished when I can catch up and get it done. I am the only one left working on rules. Once it is updated I will try to update it every 6 months.

  3. Hello Big Jim,

First of all I love the SOK ruleset and we are playing it in our group very often.

Now we want to organize a tournament of SOK and here we have some Questions:

    1. I have found the V3.0 an the 6th ed. beta. Which on is the latest version of SOK?

    2. By now we are building our SOK-Teams in this way: you pick single models from your codex and then you can buy any legal available upgrades from the entry in your codex for this model. Now a player wants to play orks and comes up with the following question. After he bought a dok for his nobz can he buy the cybork body for every nob selected?

    3. In the 6th ed. beta ruleset you can use your invulverable save and your amour roll. In our group we understood it like: every modell can use every legal save, including terrain. Is this the right way to play this rule?

Thank you for your help and please excuse my bad english. I am not a native speaker. ;-)

    Greetings
    Tyzor

  4. I am glad y'all are enjoying SO Kz.

The links in the above post is the most current version of the rules, the 6th ed beta is the final product until I sort out some pictures for the document.

As long as the Cybork bodies do not exceed any of the Killzone list building restrictions, yes.

No you may not stack on the cover save, because a cover save is not an invulnerable save it is a cover save.

Hope that clears thing up for you.

    PS: your English is fine!

  5. Okay! We thought it made sense if you have multiple saves, that you also use your cover save.

How does it work when you are shot at with a penetrating weapon. You loose your amour save, but have your cover save and then the invulverable save also?

  6. In that case you go with the 40k default of pick the best save and use it.
