Painting and Modeling conference calls!?!

I was talking with Geoff from the Independent Characters via Skype the other day while I was painting some models. I then thought to myself wouldn't it be cool to do a painting day via a Skype conference call. It could be a brilliant way to chat with my blogging and podcast friends from around the world while being productive working on my 40k projects.

We could cover all sorts of modeling and painting related topics. Plus give out real time advice for painting. I think it would be great fun.

So what do you guys think? Wanna join me and give this idea a shot?

Cheers,
Jim

  1. As an idea, it's brilliant, Jim! It's the time zone thing that's impractical. My friends and I tried RPGs a while ago via skype. It started well but because we live all over, the time zone thingy killed the idea for any long term goals. I'd love to see it work, though

  2. I agree that the time zone issue can be a bit annoying but what if instead of just a single set session it was more like a rolling open forum or some such? It could just be a conversation that starts at a given time and rolls through the hours, people staying as long as they could before moving on. It might make the talk a bit unwieldly but it might work.

  3. Thanks for the comments guys. We could totally set up a network of people and do these anytime.

Time zones could be an issue but if and when I schedule one of these calls I would do it on my day off and be available online most of the day. So people could jump on and off as they need to.

I will really bang out the details once we generate the interest.

    Thanks again for the feedback.

  4. It sounds interesting, thought I'm ignorant in the ways of skype. I'll have to devote some time to learning about it.
