Modeling Xusia the Sorcerer: part 1 Mock-up

Here is a quick mock-up WIP for the Soul reapers SC Xusia. There is still tons to be done; he's going to have a broad belt like the ones you see on Space Wolves, a flowing cape and I've got a couple of nifty ideas for the exhausts on his powerpack.

So far I have used parts from a Dark Angels sgt, WFB warriors of Chaos, Khorne Zerkers, basic CSM's, the Chaos Lord and the Staff head comes from Sauron from the LotR range.

  1. Looks good so far, I particularly think that the head fits the background.
While I have not tried anything this ambitious yet, I really like the fact that kit bashing was much easier than expected.
You have really made a unique model...can't wait for the finished product.

  2. I really like this conversion - the skull fits well with the background as Magilla said. The pose is also very dynamic and convincing. There's a strong gothic feeling to it that suits the warhammer 40k universe very well!

  3. He looks badass, although personally I've always prefered the sorcerer who looks like the one from Dawn of War.

  4. Thanks for the feedback guys!

Adam, I dig that model too and I have it in my collection, but he's a bit small and static these days.

I had considered doing a conversion of that mini but I don't think the head would have survived the hacksaw.
