Eris the Seeker modeling finished
I have finally fished modeling Eris, it took so long as I just couldn't find a pose that I liked. I really like the cruelly casual pose I finally came up with.
His holster was made as a homage to the original plastic beakie marines from the RTB 001; oh yeah and I needed a left hand holster.
If life slows down enough this week I will be attempting to paint him and finish the Defiler.
I apologize for the lack of posting in the last week. My Mother was back in the hospital for a spell. She is home now and recovering well.
Cheers for now,
Jim

First and foremost, I wish your Mother a speedy recovery - our thoughts and prayers are with her and you.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, I like the model. The pose gives him the appearance of having seen and done it all. Arrogance and contempt in one pose. My one suggestion would be to tilt the head to the left like to give the appearance he has grown bored with the whole affair.
I love how serious you are about representation on a model. I can see how you went out of your way to make sure that not only was there a melta gun on the bike but a true combi-melta to go with his equipment.
ReplyDeleteTremendous conversion. That Bike is simply amazing. Also, the attention to detail, like the Pistol's holster for example, make it for me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback guys!
ReplyDeleteMags, that's and interesting idea, but I don't want him to look too bored!
Joe, thanks dude, with the special characters I think the attention to detail is required and it's great that that it's shown through!
B.smoove, funny thing is I wasn't sure about the bike conversion until I actually got the finished rider mounted. I love those old pistol holsters, and now that I have done this we may see a few more because it's a simple conversion.

WTH, I swear there was a comment from Mags just a minute ago, Blogger is really starting to irritate me!
ReplyDeleteNot just your blog Jim, all of the blogs are having weird comment issues.
ReplyDeleteI was checking out Black Legion Blog and it says 4 comments but only 1 shows up, same thing with most other Blogs.
I did comment though about making him look bored and distracted, like he has seen it an done it all.
Well, this commenting problem has been going on for 24 hours, if it doesn't right its self soon, GiF will be going to Disqus.
