Beasts of War 'gets' how to have fun!

That's right my friends, I wholeheartedly support this challenge put forth by Beasts of War. Break the Chains of Officialdom, use your imagination and have a great time!

Narrative play does not require points to be fun or balanced. It requires a keen imagination and groovy scenario!

Did Leonidas worry that he was outnumbered at Thermopylae? Nope, he figured out a way for his paltry 300 Spartans to halt the advance of the entire Persian army.

Did Hal Moore just give up in the battle of the Ia Drang valley when he found out he was outnumbered 10 to 1? No, he just used excellent tactics and every tool in his arsenal to pound the crap outta the PAVN army.

Those are both excellent examples of neat scenarios, that with a little forethought could be great 40k games.

So go out there, use some of that brain power that you have, come up with a unique scenario, get a few beverages of your choice, roll some dice with your buddies and have a Blast!

  1. For casual campaigns there is no need for 'point limits'. When GW started with Lord of the Rings some of their scenarios where balanced in such away that a smaller force had equal opportunities to win.

One of the best ways they did it was giving each player totally different objectives. One player had to last for x turns while the other player had to get x number of troops into a certain area of the board.

Could be something like a fan version of Battle Missions.

Maybe I should write up a few scenarios.
